Oracle Database Administrator
In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the company’s Oracle database systems ensuring resiliency, uptime, HA/DR, performance, capacity planning, overall monitoring and documentation.
This role requires a service-oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, a focus on managing and resolving issues, establishing and maintaining communication with stakeholders to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administration of firm’s Oracle database environment including, but not limited to:
Support, configure, maintain, upgrade and patch database environments
System Health Monitoring
System Availability and Performance troubleshooting
Database Performance Tuning
Database Backup/Restore/Recovery management
Maintain data integrity and security
Oracle Grid Infrastructure management
Database Storage management (including ASM)
Automation of routine DBA tasks
- Support Oracle environment HA/DR solutions (RAC, DataGuard)
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to support production database environment.
- Support software development projects, including production releases.
- Effectively coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders.
- Learn relevant business processes and understand data flow, criticality and dependencies.
- Innovative approach to work, constantly looking for opportunities to uplift the system to more efficient and effective new technologies.
Qualifications:
- 7+ year experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, supporting various Oracle RDBMS versions (11g -19c+)
- Good working knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters and Operating Systems (AIX, Linux, Windows)
- Extensive Full Project life Cycle experience
- Extensive experience in developing database scripts (SQL, PL/SQL and Unix Shell)
- Working knowledge of Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred candidates will have some experience with other DBMS’s: PostgreSQL, Sybase, etc.
