Our client, a major bank in New York City, is looking for Junior FIX Onboarding and Production Support Specialist

This on-site role, 5 days in the office.

3 months initial contract with possible extensions or option to hire.

Two positions are available.

Rate: $40-46/h on W2, possible C2C as well.


Junior FIX Onboarding and Production Support Specialist

Seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior FIX Onboarding and Production Support Analyst to support Equity products across both high-touch and low-touch trading workflows. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn FIX connectivity, electronic trading support, and front-office systems in a fast-paced financial environment.

The team supports front office, middle office, and back-office processes, with a primary focus on FIX gateway support and FIX client onboarding. Exposure to pre-trade and post-trade matching solutions is a plus. The successful candidate will bring a collaborative mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn both business and technical aspects of electronic trading.


Trade Support Duties:
  • Provide technical support for internal and external clients using FIX (4.2 / 4.4) for electronic trading, pricing, and straight-through processing (STP).
  • Assist with FIX client onboarding, including gathering requirements, configuring FIX settings, and supporting testing efforts.
  • Work closely with Trading Desks to understand business workflows and support FIX-related requests.
  • Support existing trading platforms and assist with enhancements based on client and business feedback.
  • Coordinate with external software vendors and internal technology teams to ensure successful FIX integrations.
  • Participate in testing and release activities for new applications, FIX configurations, and enhancements.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to FIX connectivity and trading applications, escalating as needed.
  • Assist with documenting procedures and contributing to internal knowledge bases.
  • Collaborate with agile development and support teams to deliver end-to-end trading support solutions.
  • Support operational tasks such as system monitoring, configuration updates, and basic administration activities


SKILLS
  • Basic understanding of FIX protocol concepts, including messages and order flow.
  • Ability to read and understand scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python, or Java (hands-on experience is a plus, but not required).
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and basic system administration concepts.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical teams and business users.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Self-motivated with good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.


Education:
  • At least Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field
