Responsibilities:
- Design and develop advanced RF and microwave systems, with a focus on high-power amplifier (HPA) and high-frequency (HF/mmWave) technologies. This role requires a strong theoretical background, hands-on design experience, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while driving innovation in products up to 67 GHz and beyond.
- Lead the design, simulation, testing, and release of RF Power Amplifiers and high-frequency components (active and passive) for both catalog and custom applications.
- Develop and optimize RF circuits and systems, including power combiners/dividers, couplers, filters, protection and monitoring circuitry, and DC biasing networks.
- Utilize advanced simulation tools (ADS, AWR, HFSS, CST, Momentum) and CAD tools (OrCAD, AutoCAD) for schematic capture, layout, and modeling.
- Perform hands-on tuning, testing, and troubleshooting of RF hardware using spectrum/network analyzers, power meters, and other lab equipment.
- Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design for manufacturability and cost-effective production.
- Collaborate with program management team on project planning and execution, including milestone tracking, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.
- Author technical documentation, application notes, and contribute to technical publications and webinars.
- Support ISO audits, internal reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering processes. Support evaluation of components, materials & suppliers.
- Provide technical support directly to customers. Periodically travel to customer meetings.
- Demonstrates strong initiative and independent problem-solving skills.
- Ensure high-quality execution of RF design and development projects.
- Mentor junior technical staff.
- Actively participate in design review meetings.
- Provide technical vision and direction to ensure the development team is aligned with the strategy of the company.
Qualifications:
- MSEE with minimum of 5 years’ related experience
- BSEE with minimum 10 years’ related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in RF and/or mmWave amplifier design including RF bench experience.
- Ability to “Lead from the Bench” junior designers with demonstrated hands-on bench skills in RF disciplines, including fine soldering of SMT components, RF measurements, calibration techniques, and rapid prototyping. Ability to create designs and solutions across a multitude of daily challenges and ability to encourage and lead others in the same creative spirit.
- Strong knowledge of circuit simulation concepts. Ability to merge theory with practice on the bench.
- Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative.
