Our client, a major bank in New York City (Midtown Manhattan), is looking for talented Senior Cloud Architect.
Permanent position with competitive compensation package (160-175K), excellent benefits, and target bonus.

This is hybrid commute position with 2-3 days per week in the office.

Senior Cloud Architect
with strong Microsoft Azure for our Cloud Infrastructure team.
Must have a deep understanding of Azure cloud computing, architecture design, and implementation strategies.
Will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions on Azure.
Will act as a manager for a small team of cloud professionals, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and architecture of robust Azure cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
Support and oversee the migration of existing applications and infrastructure to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
Develop design patterns and reference architectures to mature cloud offerings and guide consumers in implementing optimized and compliant solutions.
Ensure Azure cloud solutions meet stringent security and compliance requirements, implementing best practices for data protection and risk management.
Establish and enforce Azure governance policies and practices, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, cost management, and resource optimization.
Provide technical leadership to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Collaborate daily with partner teams such as Cloud Engineering, Data, Security, AppDev, AI, and Enterprise Architecture to understand business needs and deliver solutions that meet enterprise standards and expectations.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, evaluating and recommending new approaches to enhance our cloud offerings and landscape.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and design on Microsoft Azure utilizing various IaaS and PaaS offerings.
5+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years of experience in technical architecture.
Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable, secure, performant, and resilient Azure cloud architectures, inclusive of cloud migrations.
Strong understanding of Azure security and governance principles and best practices.
Strong knowledge of common architecture principles, patterns and practices, such as SOA, microservices, RESTful APIs, MVC, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Previous experience managing or leading technical teams.

Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable
